PERSONALITY Akira is an intelligent, quiet soul who, for the most part, is rather introverted. He enjoys time to himself, and he has found that he thrives better when either alone or in a small group than in crowds. His introversion is only made worse by his shy personality. He is by no means the life of the party, he keeps to himself, his smiles are awkward and often forced, and he keeps his head down most of the time. His words stumble out of his mouth when confronted, and his mind goes blank when questioned. It's worse when around strangers, yet he does seem to become more comfortable around those he knows. He smiles freely around his parents, he sings to the family dog, and he chatters away. Yet, even with his family, he is known to flinch and return to his shell the moment a voice is raised. Online, he has been able to create a new persona unlike his true self. This other self is bold and confident with a feral fighting style. He walks around with his head held high and a frown planted on his face, giving off an air of intimidation. Yet, he often refuses to speak while online. If he needs to communicate, he will just send a message to the other person. This keeps him from really making too many online friends as they get frustrated with him early on, especially if they try to party up and he expects them to be able to read his body language and eyes as if he were speaking. This keeps him solo, but he does not seem to mind. At least, he doesn't while the presence of others. In truth, he's afraid of being truly alone. At home, he knows he has his family and the dog. Online? It's him against the world. HISTORY Born to unwanting parents, Akira ended up as a mistake than a miracle. He was unplanned in the middle of his mother's last year of secondary school. She was mocked and ridiculed as soon as the pregnancy began to show, and, despite her pleas, her parents would not allow her to abort. The emotional turmoil his mother went through caused her to pin the blame on her boyfriend. The two broke apart, leaving only her parents to rely on. Soon, Akira was born. He was a premature infant by only a few weeks. His body was weak, and he was forced to remain in the hospital until he was strong enough. His mother wanted nothing to do with him. She never once touched him, and she left the hospital's care as soon as she could and returned to school. When he was released from the hospital, his grandparents took charge of him. He was fed formula milk, kept away from society, and raised under their watchful eyes. They raised him by telling him that his birth mother was just his older sister and that his grandmother was his actual mother. Young Akira could not tell the difference, and he was happy to call the wrong person onee-chan and mama or haha as soon as he could utter the words. Though, he never understood why his sister would not look at him with anything but disgust, and he never understood why she would ignore his calls. Akira was kept on a tight leash as a child. He was only allowed outside whenever he was accompanied. He was only allowed to go to school under the order of the government, forced to at least go until he was done with middle school. He was an awkward child, and he rarely made any friends. Those who tried to approach him never stuck around for long. It was hard for him to make friends because he did not know how. He tried mimicking their actions, putting on horrible attempts at smiles, and trying to join conversations. It just never worked. He enjoyed the learning aspect of school, but he hated the social part. To fill up time after school since Akira had a tendency of getting his homework done fast, his parents began having him take mixed martial arts classes. It gave him something to do, even though he hated being tossed around while he was still green, and it strengthened his body. If there was ever a bullying problem at school, he would try and step in, flaunting his MMA training. At first, he was nothing more than a joke, but things changed when he ranked up a bit in his classes. During the hype about VRMMOs, Akira finished up his middle school days. He refused to go onto high school, claiming that he could just teach himself. And he did. He borrowed textbooks from the library and studied by himself. He continued going to MMA. Other than that, he secluded himself in the house. He was seventeen when he received a gift from his sister: an AmuSphere. The reason behind this gift is unknown to Akira. He was just happy that his sister seemed to be warming up to him, but he did not realize that his sister had been paying attention to the SAO incident. Not wanting her gift to go to waste, he quickly got one of the games intended for the system. That game did not last long for him as he quickly grew bored, but he did enjoy the feral persona that had developed over the course of that game's duration. Scrapping that game, he bought various others, hoping that one would interest him long enough to stick. While juggling his normal life, he hops from one game to another, rarely sticking around longer than a few months. Anything to add?: Admin Edit |
