PERSONALITY

In a sense, she doesn't care for the opinions of other people. Maki smiles often, and she takes pleasure in getting along with people, but she usually stays distant until she decides if she enjoys their presence or not.

Maki is also somewhat shy towards the ones that are superior to her, being the kind of person that is always attempting to stay in control of their world. She had decided as a little girl, that she ultimately wishes to build more friendships and be able to connect with others.

In this way Maki also can be said to adore teasing others, and sometimes going too far in her aspirations to imitate the close banter between other people. She doesn't realise that she doesn't make it clear that she doesn't fully mean all of her light-hearted insults, which leads to misunderstandings that Maki is too afraid to clarify, as she is usually somewhat in the wrong.

Unfortunately, she's selfish and can't quite bring herself to be altruistic to others, harboring suspicions and trust issues almost as a self defence mechanism. Still, Maki does genuinely desire to become a good person, but hinders her own progress towards giving goodwill, out of fear of rejection by others and getting hurt by them. She ends up being a pathological liar, and being unable to desist. She knows that she ought to stop caring so much about other opinions, but she can't help but do so.

Maki is a bright person, extremely cordial as expected of someone from her background, and gets easily attached to other people. She likes being helpful to the people she looks up to.
