Silica Keiko Ayano
PERSONALITY Silica is a bright, cheerful and caring individual who does her best for her friends and those she loves. Supportive, often putting in the effort to cheer others on, it gave her quite the reputation as someone similar to a mascot while within the first SAO, a title that she held onto within the first group she grew attached to. In the end, her popularity for her appearance was also a factor in this and some didn't take her too seriously in her abilities. With this, she developed a bit of an ego, but only because of her frustration at others seeing her as nothing more than someone that needed to be helped all the time and as nothing more than just a pretty face. Though within her moments of anger, she often gets herself into situations that are out of her control, leading her into dangers that can't be faced alone. This makes her a bit of a burden at times, which is something that she tries hard not to be. Though she always has the best intentions at heart, working to better herself and taking inspiration from those around her. The bonds she makes with others are ones that she cherishes, never wishing to lose them or to do anything that could hamper them. Such is the case with her relationship with Kirito, whom sees her as a little sister though she secretly wished that more could come of it. But, after seeing the developing relationship between him and Asuna, and greatly caring about her friendships with both of them, repressed those feelings inside and settled into the role that was assigned to her.Yet then, Silica isn't the best at handling romantic situations. In truth, she gets rather embarrassed by them easily. She can become quickly flustered, rapidly drawing unwanted attention to herself without even realizing it, causing for her to become even more embarrassed. In most cases, she avoids parties with male players as a means to keep them from asking for her information, especially when they come onto her without knowing her real age. This was an issue during her first time within Sword Art Online as she had been playing the game underage and her popularity had gained her many admirers that wished to date her or even marry her. HISTORY Keiko Ayano first appearance was during the revelation that she was among the 10,000 players trapped within the Online MMO known as Sword art online under the username of Silica. During the time in which many had begun to panic, the young girl attached herself to a small group of players and slowly began to develop along side them in their attempt to survive within the game. In the passage of the first few months, the young player managed to tame one of the many creatures within the game, becoming the first to do so. The feathered dragon was named Pina, after her pet cat that existed within the real world. In doing this act, the girl became popular within the middle floors of the game, many wishing to make parties with her and some even seeing her as a mascot due to her upbeat and cheerful personality. The fame soon began to go to her head, causing her to become a bit overconfident and even offended when things didn't go her way. This change in personality eventually took hold upon an misunderstanding with her party members, causing her to leave them with the belief that there were many others who would be happy to have her at their side. This proved to be a mistake as her solo attempt ended in tragedy. After her dispute with Rosalia, a member within the ground. Silica left the party in the middle of their hunt within the woods. She goes through the forest alone but is then attacked by multiple high level creatures Outnumbered and barely able to hold on, Pina attempts to save her by taking a deadly blow from one of the monsters, and is killed in the process. But as it appears that Silica is about to die herself, she is saved by Kirito who happens to be within the area. Devastated by the loss of her companion, Kirito tells her about a way to resurrect Pina. Though the mission to do so is outside of her own level of strength, Silica is determined to attempt it upon gaining the level required to do so, but is then informed that she has a limited time of three days before the creature is unable to be reborn. As sadness begins to wash over her again, Kirito volunteers to aid her upon this quest, stating that he would help her to save Pina. The next day, she sets off with Kirito to find the flower at the Hill of Memories that could aid in their attempt. Despite encountering a few monsters, they reach their goal but on their way back they're ambushed by Rosalia and members of the Titan's Hand guild. Rosalia then reveals that her intentions were to set up Silica and her friends to be killed within the game, which had been her motivation for being in a party with them for so long. In this, Kirito reveals his real motive as well, which was to bring the guild to justice and send them to prison for their crimes. Dispatching them easily, Silica could only watch in amazement at the skill displayed by Kirito and at how strong he really was. Upon their return to town, Kirito apologizes for not telling her of his real intentions and of his skill level. Silica accepts it and explains that she sees him still as a good person and they finally agree to meet again, but in the real world. Yet in the process of getting the flower, the young tamer gained feelings for him, but once she realized he only saw her as a little sister and friend, she realized that they could never be together in the game and begins to see him as a big brother figure instead. But, she continued to have deep feelings for him and thanks him for his aid in helping to revive Pina. In the two years that followed after this, Silica continued to travel with her dragon companion, moving throughout the game and surviving as best as she could. While doing so, she became friends with Lisbeth, Asuna and the others, seeing them as people she greatly admired and appreciated. Despite the fact that she was still too inexperienced to fight within the front line, she did her best to help those within the game and continued to support others that needed it. Eventually though, while wondering through the game, it was announced that it had finally been cleared. Cheers of joy and excitement could be heard from all over and in her heart, she knew that it had been through the efforts of her friends and Kirito, that they had been able to do so. With that, the girl finally was able to log out of the MMO, finding herself within a hospital bed, barely able to move or speak. In the months that followed the end of SAO, Ayano spent much of her time recovering like the other survivors of the experience of SAO. With her father at her side, she slowly began to become much like herself again, allowing her to attend a school made for those that had survived the incident in their attempt to resettle them back into society. Of course, in this she learned that not all of them had made it out, as Asuna was still trapped within the virtual world. Like the others, she awaited for news of her recovery, hoping that Asuna would awaken and that Kirito(who she now knew as Kazuto) to bring her home. Upon his success, she celebrated like the others, but still found herself quite jealous of the relationship built between him and Asuna. Lisbeth(Rika), seemed to share the same feelings as well and the two of them had decided to form a pact in which neither of them would attempt any means to influence him in their favor for a month. It later proved to be a mistake that they both regretted. With the danger of the past behind her, Ayano continued to live her life as a normal teenager, eventually finding herself once again playing MMOs. While others would have considered such a decision reckless after her latest accident, the young girl believed in the online world just like her friends, and she enjoyed the moments she spent with them there. As scary as it was, she believed that as long as she had them at her side, there was nothing to be afraid of. So joining the newly reformatted ALO, Silica continued her virtual adventures with her friends and enjoyed the fun that they all had together. At least, until a year later when she learned of the newly recreated Sword Art Online. Though it had a successful relaunch that had just as many people playing as before, Ayano was skeptical. But in three months time, her feelings of unease at the return of the game proved to have been accurate, revealing the return of it's former master. Though it wasn't only SAO that had been influenced by his actions. All MMOs had become connected to each other and with that, allow of the dangers that came with it's return. Many had become trapped in the game, left within comas much like in the incident from before. Ayano observed this and could only be horrified by it. But, then she learned that some of her friends, even those that had survived the previous game, had found themselves drawn back into SAO as a means to help. Despite the danger, they were willing to risk it to stop the madness and to save others. With that, and inspired by the courage of her friends, Ayano entered the MMO as well, wishing to try and do her part to aid those who needed it, despite her own fear of what may happen.
